Getting Your Own Website
I use yahoo for my web hosting. I've been trying some others but haven't found one yet that measures up.
Yahoo web hosting has a new website building tool called Yahoo! Site Solution. You can use it to set up a
professional site in minutes. It's an online site building tool. A great many types of businesses may find it
completely adequate. You might find it suitable for your needs. Some of the other web host that I've looked at
have similar quick site setup tools. One reason that I prefer Yahoo is that they offer an awesome offline site
building tool called Sitebuilder. You can also use other non Yahoo professional site building tools but I find site
builder has every thing I need. I am going to review both Yahoo site building tools here. I have been using
Yahoo for many years. I tried a couple of their earlier online site builder tools. I find that they still offer all the
site builder options that they offered before but they are not easy to find. I just recently started this website and
the only site building option that was obvious was Yahoo! Site Solution. I will be telling you how to find and
examine all the options after I review the only two you should considered, the online Yahoo! Site solution or the
offline Sitebuilder.
Yahoo Site building Tools
Yahoo! Site Solution
Yahoo! Site Solutions lets you set up a website quickly. This website is suitable for many types of businesses.
It's ideal for a brick and mortar business that wants to quickly establish a web presence. If you select Yahoo!
Site builder, it ask you a few questions and gives you a set of business pages based on your answers. Don't
worry, if you think they are not exactly the pages you would want to use. You can add or delete pages at any
time. The only page that you have to keep is the home page. Each page has a special function. On the Contact
page you can have a map, if you are a brick and mortar business and a form for a customer to fill out to get
more information. The Services page is where you can list the services your company offers. You can have a
PayPal page or Products and Services page with PayPal. You can have an About You page, a Testimonial
page or FAQ page. You can have an Audio or Video Gallery page. You can even have a Blank page to make it
what you want. There are twenty different kinds available. The next thing you have to do is pick a site design
from the many available. Don't worry you can change that later also. The page layout gives you three areas
where you can add and or edit text or your own images. There are a small number of choices for the layout of
these on a page. Each page can have a different layout. Unfortunately, you cannot add content areas or create
your own layouts. Also you have to choose a different page for each function and there is only one navigation
bar for the whole site. I would find this site building tool too limited for my needs. Fortunately Yahoo offers an
offline website building tool called Sitebuilder.
Sitebuilder
I use Yahoo's offline website building tool called Sitebuilder. It's a powerful full featured tool that lets you create
a website that will meet all your needs. When you start a new page, you will have over 400 page designs or
templates, representing many different themes or business types to choose from. After you choose your
template, you need to pick your page type. You will of course need a home page. The other types of pages
offered are About Us, Contact and Services. You can also choose to have a blank template page to customize
any way you want. There is also a store products wizard for those who have a Merchants account. Sitebuilder
pages are completely customizable. You can remove any elements of the template that you don't want. You can
move and resize template elements. You can have as many text areas as you want. They can be reshaped and
moved to any part of the page that you want. You can add as many images as you want. They can be resized
and also moved to any part of the page that you want. You can add audio and video to any page. You can add
HTML to any page. If you want to do Google adsense or any affiliate marketing, you absolutely need this to put
the your linking code on your pages. You can add links on any page. Any text can be made into a link. Every
page has a customizable navigation bar and more can be added. Since you can move, and resize or reshape
elements, each page can have a unique layout. The free Sitebuilder is as powerful as any website building
software that you can buy. This website is built with sitebuilder. Check out my main website, Tonyknows, to see
a large complex website built with Sitebuilder. Of course you can only use Sitebuilder, if you use Yahoo as your
website host. In the next paragraph I tell you how to locate sitebuilder. It's not offered as a first option and is a
bit hard to find, if you don't know about it.
Finding Sitebuilder
When you first sign up with Yahoo web hosting you are presented with Yahoo! Site Solution. It's not easy to find
the other site building options, including Sitebuilder. If you find yourself on the Small Business home page, don't
click on the Web Hosting link. That only brings you to the Yahoo! Site Solutions page. Click on the sign in to
Small Business link. Sign in if you are not already. Click on the Web Hosting Control panel link. Click on the
Create & Update link. The Create & Update page is where you need to be. This is the page that will have
all the resources you need to build, manage and promote your web site. However you find it, you need this
page. If you have just signed up, you may have to log off and sign on again, if you're only being directed to
Yahoo! Site Solution. The first module on the page Site Building Tools only offers Yahoo! Site Solution. You
need to click on the little triangle to expand the Other Site Building Tools Module. There are a number of items
there, some of which you may want to use at some point. Last on the list is the link for Site Builder. Click on that
and you will be brought to the download page for Site Builder. I don't know why Yahoo doesn't offer the choice
between Yahoo! Site Solution and Sitebuilder right up front. They are still supporting every site building that
they ever offered. I can see why they wouldn't promote the other online tools. Well now you know and you can
choose. You could decide on Sitebuilder later but any work that you put into Yahoo! Site Solutions would be
wasted. It is quick and easy, so you may want to try it. You decide. You can also start with Sitebuilder and If
you want to try Yahoo! Site Solution, Yahoo will save your Sitebuilder site. I personally would just go with
Sitebuilder.

Getting A Website
There are a lot business opportunities that will give you a website for free. These are okay if you want to do
that business. The problem is you can't use them for anything else. Even if you do some of these, you should
also have your own websites. There are other types of free websites that have their name/your name. You put
up your own content but they advertise on your website. It's very easy to get a website that you own, with your
own domain name. Some are less than $10.00 a month. I own this site. Another site that I own is tonyknows. I
can do any kind of business I want with sites that I own. I can do Google adsense, affiliate marketing or sell my
own stuff to name a few. A place where you get your own site is called a host. There you get a domain name
and build your website. I use Yahoo. I have been using it for many years. They has everything that you might
need to take your business to any level. They offer a good quick start on line site building tool called Yahoo!
Site Solution. It s give you a good selection of site designs and page layouts. They then create a series of
pages that any typical business would use. This is a fairly new site building option at Yahoo. They also offer a
great off line site building tool called Sitebuilder. This is the one that I use for all my websites. It is a flexible, full
featured option that gives you total control over your website.
